Choux (pronounced as shoe) is of French origin and its literal meaning is “cabbage“. A cream puff has a cabbage like appearance due to the typical rough surface texture. It is used in a variety of both sweet and savoury products, forming a basis for small confections, gateaux, as a fancy topping for slicesm and pies.
